HTC delivers a full range of school consulting services, as well as insightful and interactive community education workshops, professional development sessions, and skills development trainings. Our offerings are designed for enrichment and engagement, while guiding participants to address the specific concerns identified during evaluations.

School Consulting Services

Assessments & Evaluation

  • A comprehensive building review including:

    • Initial comprehensive evaluation 

    • Comprehensive report with recommendations

    • Strategic planning meeting (with contract signing)

  • Assessment and evaluation servicess include:

    • Private Initial Evaluations: 504, IEP, vocational and transition planning, disciplinary documentation, juvenile justice and court-mandated, etc.

    • Psychological and Educational Testing: Provided by Dr. Quinn Thomas (Michigan clients only)

Special Education, Mental Health, & Related Services

  • ICT, ELL/ESL, behavior support, related services integration, etc.

  • Writing, review, and revision: IEP, ITP, FBA, BIP, etc.

  • Prep for and/or advocate during IEP meetings; ensuring scholars’ support teams are aligned before /during meetings.

  • Classroom integration program designed to keep scholars engaged by ensuring they remain in the classroom at least 60% of the time and bring their academic work to RS sessions the other 40%; leverages curriculum as a tool to teach students how to apply MH/RS skills, helping them manage triggers and symptoms while staying in the learning environment; reduces maladaptive behaviors like escape and avoidance, fostering resilience and sustained academic engagement; integrating strategies from CBT, DBT, NFT/BFT, reality therapy, and other therapeutic techniques into classroom practices.

  • Court-based services: family court, juvenile justice, worker’s comp, etc.

Development

  • Targeted training and guidance for administrators, athletic directors, mentor teachers, grade level leaders, deans, and other building leaders.

  • Programs are tailored to students’ and their schools’ needs.

    Pre-made programs include:

    • Safe & Supportive Schools

    • Cross-Curricular Planning: full year, semester-based, or special projects.

    • College Access

    • Prevention Programs & Intervention/Support Groups: bullying, substance use/abuse, grief/trauma, etc.

    • Health Education: including optional mental health and SEL, comprehensive sexuality and biochemistry education (CSBE), and social skills.

    Skill Building and Student Engagement initiatives include:

    • Essential/Life Skills: includes home economics modules

    • STEM/STREAM

    • Vocational Explorations: career and technical education (CTE), career explorations, exam prep, clubs and student organizations, internship programs, etc.

  • Support with Events Planning includes:

    • Career Fairs (days or weeks)

    • Mental health and wellness fairs

    • Seasonal events (fall fair, winter formals, etc)

    • Youth-based empowerment events

    • Youth-led civic engagement

    • Student-based formal and community events

    • New teacher development: mentoring, ICT training, curriculum development, training to transition into new positions, etc.

    • Diverse Teacher Recruitment Accelerator: Teacher diversity and mindset shift training; recruiting outcomes should mirror a reflection of student body and neighborhood/community demographics where school is located

    • Family & community engagement

    • Behavior evaluation; support for teachers, paras, deans & admin of behavior, parents, coaches, etc; support with drafting and implementing documents (FBA, BIP, IEP, 504, student-teacher contracts, etc.)

    • School Culture, Equity, and Community Engagement: Ensuring policies and practices are equitable and aligned with the student population’s cultures and the school system’s values.

    • Digital and in-person youth community with leadership councils and committees discussing critical topics, delivering current events segments, and serving as peer counselors via an ongoing media project platform.

  • LALA's Youth Community Connections:

    Life After Loss A.N.D.R.E., Inc. and HTC partnered to offer school- and community-based social-emotional learning (SEL) groups from a grief and trauma-responsive and grief coaching lens.

    Youth participants are provided with a safe, nurturing, and confidential space to meet and discuss their feelings about personal, peer, neighborhood, and societal issues of concern. Workshops are also provided for essential skills development, trauma release, coping, and mental & emotional wellness care.

    Individual sessions, advocacy, and case management are offered on a situational basis, as needed, and per request.

  • We also offer additional student support programs, such as:

    • Mental health and SEL program and curriculum development

    • Establishing support groups for staff or students/participants: program and curriculum design, clinicians and support staff, advocacy, and family support resources available

    • Cross-curricular unit planning and implementation support

    • Creative arts-based programs

Customized Professional Development & Training Workshops

  • An Immersive Experience to Disability Manifestations. Participants understand how educational classifications and different disabilities impact daily functioning ranging from home to the classroom, extracurricular activities, and other places within their communities and lives.

  • An innovative educational program designed to engage elementary and middle school scholars in exploring ecosystems through immersive, hands-on experiences. By integrating biology, earth sciences, music, and social-emotional learning (SEL) concepts, this program promotes environmental stewardship, teamwork, wellness, creativity, and interdisciplinary learning.

  • Our corporate wellness professional development program is designed to equip employees with the knowledge and tools necessary for personal and professional growth by integrating health and wellness into every aspect of their lives. Since most of our concentrated time is spent at work (even if we’re WFH), it’s the best place/time to implement, practice, and track progress on new habits!

    The corporate wellness program includes mentorship opportunities, skill-building workshops, stress management techniques, and wellness activities that promote balanced and productive personal & workplace environments.
